William will guide the participants along for photography and there will also be critic session to help participants improve on their photos. A briefing will be done prior to the trip.
Workshop is open to participants of all levels, inexperienced and experienced alike. Non photography companions are welcome too.

On the first day, we will check in and take it easy for acclimatisation
(Diqing (Shangri-La is about 3380 meters above sea level)
Visit the night scene in the old town of Shangri La ( Dukezong)

Proceed to check in in a beautiful accomodation in the outskirts of Diqing for 2 nites
( You may capture star trails or milky way in the night if the sky is clear, or you may do it the following night, because we will be out early next morning for sunrise)
Visit the local market for photography
23/03/2027 (B, L, D)
We start the day early to capture the sunrise over the Monastary.
After Lunch, visit Sumtseling Monastary (Songzanlin Monastary) also known as the little Potala Palace
You may try to capture star trails again if not successful the previous night

Spend the morning relaxing at our accomodation before
saying goodbye to our hosts and make a 4 hours drive to Meili Mountain for the night

wake up early to see the Sunrise over Meili Mountain ( 日照金山)
Venture around the place for more photos
Then make a long drive to Balagezong for the night

Spend the whole day at Balagezong ( 4100 m above sea level)
then return to Dukezong old town for the last night

Make your last photos in the old town of Shangri-La before we say goodbye
and leave in the afternoon.

William Chua is an international award winning photographer based in Singapore. He does predominantly weddings, travel, landscapes, and wildlife photography
He has garnered awards from IPA (New York), MPA (London), PX3 (Paris), PDN, Sony World Awards and the Oneeyeland Awards
He had a joint photo exhibition in Singapore in 2022 to raise awareness for the Breast Cancer Foundation
His photo of the wildebeest migration was exhibited in Photokina 2018 (Cologne, Germany).
He also has his solo exhibition of his wildlife images in Raffles Hotel Singapore in 2011.
As a Fujifilm ambassador for 10 years, he has been working with Fujifilm Singapore and Fujifilm HQ in Japan to create many videos for the launch of their new equipment. Most notably for the launch of Fujifilm XT4, where he is one of the 4 photographers selected globally to endorse the camera.
He is also a speaker in Fujikina in 2022.
William’s works have been published in various publications (including Silverkris Magazine, Drukair Magazine, Asia Geographic, Geographical Magazine (UK) etc) and is a joint author for ‘Your guide to Great Photography’ alongside other global photographers.
His images have been consistently places with the Natgeo Editor’s favorites through the years. And they are represented by Modern Art Etc based in Los Angeles, California for sale as Find Art Prints.
Having led photography workshops globally, and given numerous talks on photography, he hopes to be able to help photo enthusiasts take their photography to the next level.
